OGA Standing Committees
The Academy relies on the work of its committees to assist in governing the organization’s activities. Committees have agendas and rules, work on assigned tasks, and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Each committee reports on its progress, while the Board of Trustees makes decisions on committee recommendations.
ACCREDITATION
Accreditation Committee
Reviews all applications and recommends qualified programs to the Board of Trustees for accreditation and approval. Membership on the committee is limited to Fellows of the Academy. Committee members are Colleen Chow (Chair), Gena Farinholt, Louise Freese, Janet George, Suzanna Greer, Ellen Hill, Elizabeth Johnson, Amy Lawrence, Carrie Malloy, and Jennifer Tavello.
RECOGNITION
Awards Committee
Is responsible for nominating candidates for all Academy Awards.
OUTREACH
Counsel of Accredited Organizations
Promotes the Academy’s mission with special attention to its accredited schools, camps, and clinics.
FINANCE
Finance Committee
Analyzes and oversees the budget, financial holdings, and financial practices to ensure there are adequate funds to sustain the Academy's mission and to review financial statements. Committee members are Lynn Lamping (Chair), Janet George, Josie Calamari, Carrie Malloy, and Diane Milner.
GOVERNANCE
Nominating Committee
Nominates candidates to serve as members of the Board and as Board officers. Committee members are Carrie Malloy (Chair), Sheila Costello, and Elizabeth Johnson.
PROGRAMMING
Program Committee
Plans Academy conferences and programs. Committee members are Josie Calmari (Chair), Amy Lawrence, Carrie Malloy, Jennings Miller, Ellen O'Brien, Sue Palmer, Alicia Sartori, Candi Sellers, and Casey Welsh.
CURRICULUM
Standards Committee
Reviews and recommends the curricular requirements for certification and accreditation. Committee members are Lynn Lamping (Chair), Catherine Hagberg, Kerri McDonald-Schuab, Norma Jean McHugh, and Jen Tavello.
CERTIFICATION & ETHICS
Standing Committees with Anonymous Members
Certifying Committee: reviews applications and recommends qualified candidates for approval by the Board. Membership on the Certifying Committee is limited to Fellows of the Academy.
Ethics Committee: inquiries into complaints bearing upon alleged failure by individual members and Institutional members of the Academy to adhere to the professional standards of the Academy.
